Budget airline Ryanair says it has launched a private criminal prosecution against a disruptive passenger who caused a disturbance onboard a flight from Lanzarote to Santander in January.
The passenger on flight FR2001 caused a forty minute delay after they tried to occupy a seat that was not assigned to them, after causing a disturbance in the cabin.
The man was removed by Guardia Civil after they became verbally abusive towards cabin crew.
The airline said the delay affected 137 passengers who were travelling on the flight.
If found guilty, the man faces three to twelve months behind bars or a fine equivalent to six to eighteen months of their salary.
