Prime minister holds additional meeting over Ceuta crisis
Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has chaired a new coordination meeting on the situation in Ceuta, as the government continues to monitor the aftermath of the mass migrant crisis.
The meeting brought together the ministers responsible for the economy, foreign affairs, defence, interior, territorial policy and migration, among others.
The government says it is reviewing the measures being taken to deal with the current situation in the autonomous city and remains committed to using the resources of the state to restore normality.
More than 1,500 police and Guardia Civil personnel remain deployed in Ceuta following renewed attempts by migrants to cross from Morocco in recent days.
