Cantabria confirm regions first heat related deaths

Health authorities in Cantabria say they have recorded their first heat-related deaths of the year.

Since May, several deaths have been attributed to prolonged periods of high temperatures, as much of Spain continues to experience an exceptionally hot summer.

Officials are urging people, particularly older adults and those with underlying health conditions, to avoid the hottest part of the day, stay hydrated and follow public health advice while the heatwave continues.
