Policia Nacional smash social security fraud operation

Policía Nacional has uncovered a Social Security fraud worth more than one and a half million euros.

Investigators say the alleged scheme involved the creation of fictitious employment arrangements to obtain benefits and avoid Social Security contributions.

Several people have been arrested during the operation, while officers continue to examine financial records to identify any additional suspects.

The Ministry of the Interior says tackling economic crime and protecting public funds remains a policing priority.
