One dead after fountain collapsed during World Cup celebrations

A minutes silence has been held in Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, where one person died and three others were seriously injured after part of a fountain collapsed during World Cup celebrations.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after midnight after supporters had climbed onto the structure.

Local authorities have declared a period of mourning while investigators examine the circumstances surrounding the collapse.
