Spain and Saudi Arabia strengthen security partnership

Spain and Saudi Arabia have strengthened their security partnership by signing a new Comprehensive Security Training Plan.

The agreement was signed in Madrid by Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif.

It provides for closer cooperation in areas including counter-terrorism, organised crime, cybersecurity, civil protection and specialist police training.

The Ministry of the Interior says the agreement builds on the longstanding relationship between the two countries and aims to improve the exchange of expertise and operational cooperation.
