Government unveils programme for International Museum Day

The government has announced the programme for International Museum Day, which will be marked on 18 May.

More than 150 state‑run museums and cultural institutions will take part, offering free entry, extended opening hours and special activities.

Events include guided tours, workshops, family activities and exhibitions highlighting Spain’s artistic and historical heritage.

The Culture Ministry says the aim is to encourage wider public participation and strengthen the role of museums as open, accessible spaces.
