MV Hondius passengers disembark from ship in Tenerife

Passengers from the MV Hondius have disembarked in Tenerife after the ship anchored off the island following a hantavirus outbreak on board.

Health teams are bringing people ashore in small, controlled groups, carrying out checks under strict international protocols.

Authorities say all passengers remain asymptomatic, and the operation is being coordinated with the World Health Organization and European health agencies.

A separate flight carrying fourteen Spanish nationals is heading to Madrid for preventive medical assessments.
