Criminal network dismantled for defrauding €1.5 million in public aid

Policia Nacional have dismantled a criminal organisation accused of defrauding more than €1.5 million in public aid intended for small businesses and self‑employed workers.

Investigators say the group created false companies, forged documents and used intermediaries to obtain grants illegally.

Several suspects have been arrested, and officers have seized computers, financial records and mobile phones.

The investigation remains open as police work to identify additional beneficiaries of the scheme.
