Sierra Espuña Wildfire Burns 400 Hectares and Forces Evacuation of 80 Scouts in Murcia

A wildfire in the Sierra Espuña regional park in Murcia has burned around 400 hectares and forced the evacuation of 80 scouts.

The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon and spread quickly through forested terrain, prompting authorities to activate the Military Emergency Unit.

Firefighters say wind and dry conditions have complicated the operation, but crews are working to stabilise the perimeter.

Local officials have asked residents to avoid the area while emergency teams continue their work.
