Canary Islands maintain rain alert as Storm Therese continues to affect the archipelago
The Canary Islands government is maintaining the rain alert across the western islands and Gran Canaria as Storm Therese continues to bring unstable weather.

Authorities have downgraded the wind alert to pre‑alert, but warn that convective showers may still produce intense, unpredictable downpours.
Numerous incidents have been reported, including rockfalls, flooding of ravines and road closures, with all access routes to Teide National Park remaining shut due to ice, snow and landslides.
Officials urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel and follow local emergency guidance.
