Second Volunteer Dies in Castilla y León Wildfire Incident

A second volunteer has tragically died in the Castilla and León wildfire that started in Molezuelas de la Carballeda bringing the death toll from this week’s fires to 3.

The thirty-six year old man suffered severe burns in the fire.

He was taken to the regional hospital of Leon before being transferred to the Burn Unit at the Río Hortega Hospital in Valladolid, but succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning.

Another man was treated for serious burns as firefighting efforts continue across the region.
