Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has said he is reviewing his next steps to address the crisis in PSOE following Santos Cerdán’s resignation last week.
Sources indicate he is communicating with parliamentary groups to convey a unified message in an effort to provide some political stability whilst criticism grows over numerous political scandals engulfing the party.
A key meeting is scheduled for today, where Sánchez is expected to share his next steps with party members.
Meanwhile, Santos Cerdán issued a statement over the weekend defending his innocence against allegations of corruption, saying he is set to resign from his seat in the Congress of Deputies in the coming days.
