A suspected drug smuggler has died and another was injured after a collision between a speed boat and a Guardia Civil patrol boat in Cádiz on Friday. The chase took place approximately ten nautical miles from Tarifa, where two individuals on the boat were found surrounded by bundles of hashish. This event comes just days before the anniversary of the deaths of two Guardia Civil officers in Barbate last year.

A twenty-year-old man is being held on provisional remand in Vélez-Málaga after allegedly igniting a fire at the home of his twenty-one-year-old ex-partner. The incident occurred early on Sunday morning in Torre del Mar. Two vehicles and part of the flat were damaged in the fire.
