Over 69,000 drivers fined for speeding in early August

More than 69,000 drivers have been reported for speeding during a nationwide traffic enforcement campaign between the third and ninth of August.

Guardia Civil’s Traffic Division checked more than one million vehicles, with 69,231 drivers — around 6.7 percent of those checked — found to be exceeding the speed limit.

Nineteen drivers were referred to the courts after allegedly exceeding the applicable limit by more than 80 kilometres per hour.
