Hundreds make attempt to cross into Ceuta

Hundreds of people have entered Ceuta from Morocco after swimming around or crossing the breakwater separating the two territories, while many more gathered on the Moroccan side of the border waiting for an opportunity to cross.

Spanish security forces, including Guardia Civil and Policía Nacional, have responded by increasing patrols along the coastline and returning those not entitled to remain in Spain under existing bilateral agreements.

The latest arrivals have once again highlighted migratory pressure on Spain’s North African border, with authorities continuing to monitor the situation closely.
