Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez visits Los Gallardos wildfire site

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has visited the areas affected by last week’s devastating wildfire in Los Gallardos, Almería, where he met emergency workers, local officials and residents impacted by the disaster.

Sánchez praised the cooperation between all levels of government during the emergency response and called for what he described as a “national agreement” to address the growing threat posed by climate change.

The wildfire claimed thirteen lives and became the deadliest in Spain this century.

Authorities say recovery efforts and investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing, while support remains in place for affected families and communities.
