Death toll in Almería wild fire rises to 13
The death toll from the devastating wildfire in Los Gallardos, Almería, has risen to thirteen after the death of a ninety-three-year-old British woman who had been receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fire.
The blaze is now the deadliest wildfire in Spain this century and the worst on record in Andalusia.
Emergency services continue to support affected communities while investigations into the cause of the fire remain ongoing.
The tragedy has also prompted condolences from King Charles III, who conveyed his sympathy to King Felipe VI and the families of those affected by the disaster.
