Spain Closes Its Airspace to Military Aircraft Involved in Iran War

Spain has closed its airspace to any military aircraft involved in the war in Iran.

The government confirmed the move after the latest escalation in the conflict, saying it will not authorise overflights or allow the use of Spanish bases for operations linked to the offensive.

The restriction applies to aircraft departing from Spain and to military flights coming from other European bases, including the UK and France.

Defence officials say the decision is in line with Spain’s position of not contributing to what it considers an illegal war, and the measure is intended to avoid any action that could fuel further escalation.
