British Citizens in Spain Honoured in New Year List

Several British nationals living in Spain have been recognised in His Majesty the King’s 2025 New Year Honours List for their community service.

In Mallorca, Katherine Mentink-Duncan, a former Calvià councillor and longtime advocate for British residents, was awarded the British Empire Medal for her decades of work helping expats and supporting local charities.

Also honoured was voluntary firefighter Terence Curran from Jávea for his leadership in community fire-safety and prevention. The British Ambassador to Spain praised both recipients for strengthening community ties and their dedication to service abroad.
