València Council Activates Orange Alert for Rain and Suspends Classes

València City Council has activated measures for an orange alert due to heavy rain today, suspending classes in affected areas. Several educational centres in flood-prone regions will close, including the local primary school Camí de l’Horta and the secondary school Isabel de Villena.

Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities as parks and gardens will also be closed.

The weekend saw disruption across much of the region, as well as in the Balerics due to the passing thruogh of storm Alice.

Ibiza saw areas of flooding, whilst the AP-7 motorway was also closed at Pilar de la Horadada when the tunnel flooded due to torrential rains.
