Severe Weather Warning for Eastern Spain and Balearic Islands

Meterological agency Aemet has issued a severe weather warning for the eastern coast of mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands.

Thunderstorms and torrential rainfall is expected from today until at least Monday, with the Costa Blanca on a red weather alert for rains today.

Yesterday saw localised flooding following heavy rains, as part of a slow moving cold Atlantic front moving across the Iberian peninsular.

AEMET has asked people to remain vigilant, and to avoid at risk areas.
