A meeting between PSOE and Sumar yesterday at the Congress of Deputies has failed to yield results, that’s according to senior members of Sumar.
Yolanda Díaz expressed deep disappointment, giving Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez a last chance to address the corruption scandal engulfing his party ahead of his appearance on the 9th July before the Spanish parliament.
During the two and a half hour meeting, Sumar representatives expressed concerns over the PSOE’s perceived disorientation following the scandal.
Both sides agreed on the need to continue working, but Sumar believes the urgency and severity of the situation have not been acknowledged by the larger coalition partner.
Both parties are due to hold senior committee meetings this weekend, which may result in further changes to their make-up.
