Spain Bans Commercial Calls from Mobile Numbers

A ban on commercial calls from mobile numbers has come into effect.

This move – which became law on Saturday – aims to combat telephone fraud and SMS scams.

The new regulation, part of a broader government strategy, also includes measures to block calls from unassigned numbers.

Operators will also now be required to implement stringent restrictions on international calls mimicking Spanish numbers.
