Pedro Sánchez and José Luis Ábalos WhatsApp Controversy Dominates Politics

The controversy surrounding WhatsApp messages between Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and former minister José Luis Ábalos have dominated political debate this week, after the prime minister said he believes the leaking of the messages has broken the law.

In a fiery debate at the Congress of Deputies, opposition leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo accused Mr. Sanchez of corruption in the Air Europa rescue.

The government maintains the rescue was transparent and compliant with regulations, saying that PP was trying to politicise the leaks.
